Lucius Carter

Lucius Carter, 86, N. Augusta, S.C., formerly of Fayette County, died Feb. 4, 2009. He was born Oct. 11, 1926 in Haralson, son of Wylie C. and Roxanna Milner Carter. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and five sisters. He was a POW in World War II, and was a past Master of Masonic Lodge F&AM 590, Hapeville. Services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel with the Rev. Jim Willis and the Rev. Dan Houston officiating. Interment was at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Margaret "Elizabeth" Carter, North Augusta, S.C.; a son, Michael Carter, N. Augusta; a daughter, Maria and Charles Lambert, N. Augusta; grandchildren, Michael and Vickie Lambert, N. Augusta, and Daniel and Ashley Lambert, Cumming; and five great-grandchildren. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
