Mr. and Mrs. Howard T. Spencer Jr. of Peachtree City announce the engagement of their daughter, Meagan Elizabeth Spencer, to John Patrick (JP) Barbee, son of Dave Barbee of Green Bay, Wis. and Louise Barbee of Suquamish, Wash.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Francis Robichaux Sr. and Hilda Robichaux of Rayne, La., and Mr. and Mrs. Howard T. Spencer Sr. of Topeka, Kan. She is a 2002 graduate of McIntosh High School and a graduate of Georgia Tech where she received a bachelor of science degree in bio-chemistry. She currently is in her second year of a doctor of pharmacy program at Mercer University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and is a pharmacy intern at the Medicine Shoppe in Dunwoody.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late John Barbee and Eunice Barbee of Wilmette, Ill., and Genevieve Hollenback of Medford, Wisc., and Pat Hollenback of Suquamish, Wash. A 2000 graduate of Hume-Fogg High School, he is a graduate of Georgia Tech where he received a bachelor of science degree in industrial engineering and was a member of the Iota Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. He currently is employed as a senior consultant for Kurt Salmon Associates in Atlanta.

An outdoor garden wedding is planned for Saturday, May 23, 2009, in Kennesaw. Following a honeymoon to Italy, the couple will reside in Dunwoody.
