Gene and LaVanda Shellnutt of Fayetteville and Timothy Kirkpatrick of Fort Myers, Fla. announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Shana Brianne Shellnutt of Brooks, to James Tyson Henkel, also of Brooks, son of James and Gail Henkel of Fayetteville and Savannah Bell of Mesquite, Texas. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Walter and Norene Ivie of Brooks, Bob and Polly Lura of Cape Coral, Fla., Sidney and Harlene Kirkpatrick of Flowery Branch, and Herschel and Carolyn Gibbs of Blue Ridge. She is a 1997 graduate of Fayette County High School, a 2001 graduate of State University of West Georgia and earned her master’s degree from Central Michigan University. She is presently employed as a manager for Petco Animal Supplies Inc. in Douglasville. The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Bob and Polly Henkel of Corsicana, Texas and the late Martha Bell, also of Texas. He is a 1985 graduate of Richardson High School in Richardson, Texas. He is presently employed by Whole Foods Market, Inc. in Atlanta. The wedding will be Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the home of the bride’s aunt and uncle in Fairburn, with a reception immediately following the ceremony.
