• Newnan Community Theatre will have auditions for “Proof,” on Monday and Tuesday of next week at 7 p.m. They will also present “Romantic Fools,” an adult comedy about relationships on Feb. 13 and 14. and will offer a Kids Camp over Winter Break, Feb. 16-21 culminating in a show at 10 a.m. on Feb. 21. There will also be auditions for “The Jungle Book” at 7 p.m. on Feb. 23 and 24. Auditions are open to ages 8-16. For more information on Newnan Community Theatre Company, visit newnantheatre.com • Southside Theatre Guild will present “Romance/Romance” at 8 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays, Feb. 19-Mar. 7 with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, Mar. 1. Two one act musicals that take varied looks at romance seekers. The first is a delightful romp through the turn of the century Vienna based on Schnitzler’s tale “The Little Comedy.” Act 2 is a modern look at affection and disaffection in a two couple summer house based on the Jules Renard play “Summer Share.” An Off-Off Broadway sensation that successfully moved to Broadway, “Romance/Romance” is a perfect change from the modern mega musical. Tickets are $12 on Thursdays, $12 for children under $12 and $15 for adults. Southside Theatre Guild will also hold auditions for “Whose Wives Are They, Anyway?” on Feb. 23 and 24 at 7 p.m. The farcical comedy will be presented Thursdays-Saturdays, Apr. 30-May 16. For more information about Southside Theatre Guild, visit www.stgplays.com • Offshoot Productions’ Gallery Players improvisation troupe has spent the past year developing an energetic ensemble and delighting audiences in a wildly comic exploration of life and relationships. Now the troupe is offering a twist on the popular murder mystery. In “Murder Off the Cuff,” the improv performers incorporate audience suggestions as to murder weapons, motivations, conspirator interaction, clue searching and much more. In this evening of scenes, the actors may portray famous detectives, plot a crime, find ingenious ways of committing murder, or solve a mystery, all the while using the hilarious improvisation approaches that have created a loyal following. The first performance in this evening of scenes with a murder mystery theme takes place on Friday, March 6, at 8 p.m. at It’s a Grind coffee house, 1240 Hwy 54 West, across from Piedmont Fayette Hospital in Fayetteville. The enticing aromas, delicious desserts and cozy seating are certain to add to the audience’s enjoyment. Tickets, which are $10 each, may be picked up in person at It’s a Grind or purchased online with a credit card at www.offshoot.org. • The Twilight Theatre is planning on doing two shows this spring: “Broadway by Candlelight” and “Little Women.” This summer, July 9-12, they will present “Oliver.” They need a lot of people of all ages to be in the show. For more information, visit www.thetwilighttheatre.com • The Legacy Theatre in Tyrone will present “Smoke on the Mountain,” through Feb. 22. The show is framed as a Saturday night gospel sing and the singers are members of the Sanders family. In addition to sharing their stories and beliefs, the Sanders family perform close to 30 traditional and bluegrass gospel songs. Showtimes for “Smoke on the Mountain” are at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays with Saturday matinees at 3 p.m. on Feb. 7 and 14 and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m. throughout the run.
