The Knight Group, based in Jonesboro, earned three top awards, including one Gold Award, at the 2005 Professionalism Awards Banquet to recognize the most outstanding professionals in Atlanta’s home building industry.

The Professionalism Awards is the annual program produced by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and the Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council. This year’s presentation event was held recently at a black-tie awards dinner and program at the Georgia World Congress Center and attracted a crowd of over 1,400.

The program gives members the association the opportunity to compete with their industry professionals in building, remodeling, marketing and personal achievement areas. This year, a select group of industry professionals traveled to Atlanta from across the United States during August to judge the hundreds of entries.

The Gold Award for The Knight Group came in the category for Single Family Detached $119,999 and Under (builds 100 plus homes a year). The winning home is located in the Stone Ridge community in Covington.

Knight won the Silver Award in the category for Best Building Design Detached Model ($150,000 to $199,999. This home is in the Rivertown Mill community in South Fulton County.

The Knight Group joined another home builder, Mayfield Homes, as co-winner of the Silver Award in Community Service for their participation in HomeAid Atlanta’s project to renovate and construct a 6,000 sq. ft. Tapestry House for unwed teenage mothers and their babies. This home is located in Fairburn in South Fulton County.

The Knight Group, which is celebrating its 27th year in business, is one of the south Atlanta area's most active home builders and currently builds and develops in Clayton, Henry, DeKalb, Newton, Carroll, Houston, and South Fulton counties. The company, which was ranked No. 21 in the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s latest listing of “Atlanta’s Top 25 Home Builders”, has been a consistent winner of Professionalism Awards over the years. The Knight Group is on pace to sell 580 homes in 2005.
