Low bidder Terry Jackson and Associates, Inc. won approval Feb. 2 from Coweta County Commission for the installation of a traffic signal at Poplar Road and Newnan Bypass East.

The bid by Terry Jackson totaled $142,197, compared to bids by Brooks-Berry-Haynie & Associates, Inc. at $241,807 and by Bass Signal Corp. at $250,000.

Terry Jackson will serve as the prime contractor while Wilburn Engineering, LLC will provide design services.

Funding for the project will come from the current Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST).
