Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Wallace of Fayetteville announce the engagement of their daughter, Karen Denise, to Patrick Jordan Brannon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Brannon, also of Fayetteville.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Ruth Drewry Thornton and the late Robert M. Thornton of Athens, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ronald A. Wallace Sr. of Atlanta. She is a 2003 graduate of Fayette County High School and a 2007 graduate of The University of Georgia where she earned a bachelor of science degree in middle grades education. She is also a 2008 graduate of The University of West Georgia, where she earned a master’s degree in education. She is currently an eighth grade math teacher at East Coweta Middle School.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Merrifield of Atlanta, and L. R. Brannon and the late Ruth Brannon of Jonesboro. He is a 2004 graduate of Fayette County High School and will graduate in December, 2009 from Columbus State University with a bachelor of arts degree in history and secondary education.

The wedding is planned for June 20, 2009 at New Hope Baptist Church, Fayetteville. Following a honeymoon to the Bahamas, the couple will reside in Newnan.
