February marks the beginning of Black History Month and the Peachtree City Library will be celebrating it with a special program today from 2 to 4:30 p.m. The theme for this year's program is "Family." Mr. Eugene Miller, a local resident and advocate for libraries celebrating Black History Month, will be the presenter. The featured speaker will be Chief Magistrate Judge Charles R. Floyd, Fayette County's first black judge. Angele Releford, Rev. Edward J. Johnson from Flat Rock AME Church, Artist Brian Downie, Olivett Baptist Church Men's Choir directed by Morris Brown and the Bethlehem Baptist Church Children's Choir will also participate. Authentic African food, prepared by library staff, will be served. The public is encouraged to arrive early if they want to eat, as it disappeared quickly in years past. For more information, contact Joyce Horace at the Peachtree City Library, 770-631-2520.
