DESCRIPTION:
Birds, birds, everywhere. Pine Mountain is considered an Important Bird Area for migratory birds, and during this event we will be celebrating these wonderful creatures by participating in the Great Backyard Bird Count.
Activities include a birding walk, wild-wing crafts, and Steve Hoddy of EarthQuest, Inc. will be leading a Bird of Prey Flight demonstration. Other sites that are involved with event are Roosevelt’s Little White House and the Warm Springs Fish Hatchery.

Arbor Day: Celebrating “Georgia’s Tree Army” and the C.C.C.

DESCRIPTION:
The Civilian Conservation Corp is responsible for planting billions of trees during the Great Depression. In honor of the C.C.C and the 75th anniversary of the New Deal, park staff will be handing out tree saplings to guests and encouraging them to become a member of Georgia’s Tree Army. Bob Pasquill, a U.S. Forester, author and historian, and C.C.C. enthusiast will be presenting a program on the C.C.C boys at 2 p.m.
