Horace "Slick" Jackson, 68, Atlanta, formerly of Luthersville, died Jan. 10, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Emma Jackson of Luthersville, and his wife, Virginia Mann, whom he married in 1971. He was educated in the public schools in Meriwether County. He was a member of the Rocky Mount Bethel Baptist Church in Luthersville. He had worked for William L. Bonnell Company, the City of Atlanta, and Sears-Roebuck, where he retired. Services were at the Rocky Mount Bethel Baptist Church, Luthersville, with the Rev. Lamar Godfrey officiating. Interment was at the church cemetery. Survivors include a brother, Joseph Jackson, Detroit, Mich.; a sister, Eura Mae Sewell, Hogansville; a sister-in-law, Everlina Jackson, Atlanta; former sister-in-law, Lucille Holloway, Decatur; cousin, Joe N. Jackson, Atlanta; a nephew, Donald Smith; nieces, Geraldine C. Kerr, and Debra J. Blackwell; friends, LaGree Rosser, Bonnie Phillips, and Ronald "Scrap" Marshall; stepsons, Manzy Womack, and Richard Womack; and brother-in-law, Lonnie Mann. Roscoe Jenkins Funeral Home, Newnan, was in charge. login to post comments |
