Three residents of Tyrone and Fayetteville have been arrested on drug charges resulting from two recent investigations by Fayette County Sheriff's Office Tactical Narcotics Team (TNT).

In the first case, TNT Lt. Jody Thomas said agents conducted a buy/bust operation Jan. 23 that resulted in the arrest of two persons charged with the sale of methamphetamine.

Tyrone residents Freddie Russell Chastine, 29, and Clint Anthony Teal, 22, were taken into custody without incident after they sold approximately 3.5 grams of methamphetamine to an undercover agent for $325, Thomas said.

And in a Jan. 27 incident, TNT agents executed a search warrant at the Fayetteville home of 35 year-old Mario Jermaine Gates, Thomas said. Gates was found to be in possession of four ounces of marijuana, said Thomas.

Gates was taken into custody without incident and charged with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, Thomas said.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Tactical Narcotics Team is a multi-agency unit under the command of the Fayette County Sheriff. The unit consists of members of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Tyrone Police Department, Fayetteville Police Department and Peachtree City Police Department.
