An early morning traffic stop for speeding in Fayetteville Jan. 17 netted handguns concealed on three of the car’s occupants and a fourth person wanted in Alabama.

Arrested on charges of carrying a concealed weapon were Courtney Cain, 23, of Athens, 31-year-old Brandon Cain, of Jonesboro and Taurus Hill, 28, of Huntsville, according to Fayetteville Police spokesperson Steve Crawshaw.

Also in the vehicle and arrested on charges by Morgan County, Ala., law enforcement was 28-year-old Etowah, Tennessee resident Willie Bernard, said Crawshaw. Courtney Cain was also charged with speeding, Crawshaw said.

Crawshaw said the car driven by Courtney Cain was stopped for speeding on Ga. Highway 85 at 4:45 a.m. Officers were given permission to search the vehicle after smelling marijuana. A search of the vehicle revealed a .357-caliber handgun on the floorboard on the driver’s side, said Crawshaw.

A search of the occupants revealed that Courtney Cain had a .380-caliber handgun concealed on her person, said Crawshaw. Brandon Cain was carrying a .22-caliber handgun and Taurus Hill was carrying a .22-caliber handgun on his person, Crawshaw said.

A search of the vehicle did not reveal any marijuana, Crawshaw said.
