Mr. and Mrs. Mark (Ann) Pursley of Peachtree City announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Elizabeth Myers, to Shelby Lee Madison Barker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan (Robin) Tennant of Peachtree City and Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Barker of Sedalia, Mo.

The bride-to-be also is the daughter of the late T. Scott Myers of Devon, Pa. and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene R. Myers of Devon, Pa. She is a 2005 graduate of McIntosh High School and will graduate in May, 2009, from the University of West Georgia with a B.S. in nursing.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Ms. Elda Bryson and the late Robert Bryson, Mr. and Mrs. Bobbie Barker and Ms. Janet Barker of Sedalia, Mo. He is a 2004 graduate of McIntosh High School and will graduate from the University of West Georgia in August, 2009, with a B.S. in political science. He plans to pursue a teaching career.

The wedding will be in September, 2009. The couple will reside in Georgia.
