Marie Cavender Hardy McPherson, 84, Brooks, died Jan. 3, 2009. She was born May 20, 1924 in Brooks, daughter of the late John Mitchell and Eddie Putman Cavender. She was member of the Brooks Baptist Church. Services were at the Warren Haisten Memorial chapel, Griffin. Interment was at Brooks Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include her husband, Roy McPherson; daughters, Janette and Gary Haney; a stepdaughter, Pam and Chris Chambers; a stepson, Lacy and Sheila McPherson; a granddaughter, Julie Haney; step-grandchildren, Pattie Russell, Emery Jackson, Ronda and Joe Davis, Lacy Jr., and Charlene McPherson, Dusty McPherson and Tony Crawford, Micheal Chambers, Cambrie Chambers, and Cody Chambers; 11 step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law, Belita Cavender, Sue Lunch, Estelle Shirley, and Jewell Varnadoe; and a brother-in-law, Grady and Betty McPherson. Haisten McCullough Funeral Home, Griffin, was in charge.
