Five seniors from Sandy Creek’s football team signed letters of intent on National Signing Day this past Wednesday. Head coach Chip Walker stated that the scholarships that the five young men signed on Wednesday totaled close to $500,000.

Stephan Atrice committed to attend the Air Force Academy, which does not take letters of intent. Atrice, a linebacker for the Patriots in 2005, was the team’s defensive player of the year and a member of the first team All County and All Area teams.

Brent Brewer made a big splash on Wednesday by signing with Florida State University. Brewer, a free safety, wide receiver and kick returner for the Patriots, was named to the first team All County and All Area teams and was an honorable mention to the All State team. Walker also told the crowd that Brewer established himself as the number two kick returner in the school’s history.

Aybid Coleman, another one of Sandy Creek’s impresssive linebackers, signed with Charleston Southern University. Coleman was a member of the All County team and was an honorable mention to the All Area team.

E.J. Holt, a defensive end who was on the All County team and second team All Area team, committed to Southeast Lousiana.

Corbin Miles, a wide receiver and cornerback and a captain on the team, signed with Tennessee Tech. Miles was a member of both the All County and the All Area team.

“You will always be Patriots,” said Walker to his players. “When you come home from college, see your parents first but come visit us second.”
