Alice Beryle Vicha

Alice Beryle Vicha, 76, Peachtree City, died Dec. 31, 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Charles Vicha Sr. She was also preceded in death by a son, Norman Charles Vicha Jr., who died in a tragic accident in Peachtree City in 2002. She was a trained nurse and later became a dog groomer and breeder of Portuguese Water Dogs. After the death of her son she was instrumental in promoting legislation concerning police chase policies. This law became know as "Chuck's Law" and required police agencies to have plans in place for dealing with pursuits. She was also very strong supporter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving. There are no local services being planned.

Survivors include sons, Kevin and Kathy Vicha, San Diego, Calif., Darrell and Joyce Vicha, Mentor, Ohio; a daughter, Susan Vicha, Cleveland, Ohio; and a step-grandson, David McDonald Jr., San Diego, Calif. Memorial donations may be made to Mothers Against Drunk Driving. DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home, South Euclid, Ohio, was in charge of arrangements.
