The Georgia DOT has completed improvements to the intersection of State Route (SR) 54 at Stewart and Reese Roads. A new traffic signal has been installed and will be operational on Tuesday, Jan. 6.

Improvements made to this intersection realigned Stewart Road and Reese Road and added left turn lanes on SR 54 north and southbound. Other improvements added right turn lanes on Stewart and Reese Roads and SR 54 southbound. Prior to these improvements; motorists on Stewart and Reese Roads utilized stop signs prior to merging with traffic on SR 54, causing excessive delays during the morning hours.
