Ready to make a resolution and stick to it? If so then the Piedmont Newnan Hospital Wellness Center is the place to help start 2009 off on a healthier and happier note. Throughout the month of January, the  Piedmont Newnan Hospital Wellness Center is waiving the $75 initiation fee for new members.

“Sticking to a fitness routine can be a challenge for many people,” says Colleen Alrutz, director of the Piedmont Newnan Hospital Wellness Center. “The New Year is a great time to begin a new or improved fitness routine. The staff members at The Wellness Center are ready and able to lend advice and assistance to members.”

New members receive a free fitness assessment and a customized program to help them reach their fitness goals.  They also will find out what areas of fitness to concentrate on, how to exercise safely and monitor progress, and will be taught how to use the fitness center equipment.
Open to individuals 14 years and older, The Wellness Center focuses on disease prevention, rehabilitation of injuries and maintenance of optimal health, and educates members on fitness wellness. It also features state-of-the-art cardiovascular and strength training equipment.

“While dedicating yourself to a new exercise regimen in 2009 it is important to schedule time for a visit with your primary care physician,” says Alrutz. “Seeing your doctor for annual checkups is an important aspect of your health and can aid in the early detection of chronic diseases such as diabetes.”

The Piedmont Newnan Hospital Wellness Center offers a variety of group exercise programs, personal training, a Senior Wellness Program, rehabilitation assistance, massage therapy and many other health programs. For more information call 770-254-3550, or visit www.piedmontnewnan.org.
