‘Teacher Man’ Jan. 7

The Centre for Performing and Visual Arts of Coweta County is starting up the new year with “Teacher Man,” a play performed by The American Theatre, which specializes in making theatrical productions out of literary works.  “Teacher Man” is based on a book by Frank McCourt.

McCourt, a dedicated teacher, charming storyteller, and eloquent writer, shares the riches of his thirty years experience in public high school classroomsin the book. A modest man; "I thought I was teaching. I was learning," McCourt says as he and his students take the reader on a journey laced with humor and fueled by a heart of unlimited circumference. “Teacher Man” will be performed by Michael McMonagle, adapted and directed by Wynn Handman, presented by The American Place Theatre. This production is both inspirational and educational for students of all ages.

“Teacher Man” will be presented Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors and students.
