Dr. William Carl Alsmeyer, 94, Peachtree City, died Dec. 20, 2008. He was preceded in death by his wife, Athene Tava Alsmeyer, his parents, William Ernst and Florence Inez Alsmeyer, and a brother, Ralph Alsmeyer. He was a Ph.D. structural engineer and was a 37 year employee of Leo A. Daly Company. He had lived and worked on every continent except Antarctica. He was a world traveler, inventor of great things, a professor, a scholar and a gentleman. Memorial services were at Ashley Glenn Assisted Living, Peachtree City, with Pastor Miriam Beecher officiating. Survivors include a son, William A. and Arlene Alsmeyer, Scribner, Neb.; a daughter, Athene Tenney, Peachtree City; grandchildren, Tiffany ad Christine Alsmeyer, Scribner, Nib., Amanda A. and Chris Burger, Peachtree City, and Jonas R. and Julianna Tenney, Carlisle, Pa.; and great-grandchildren, Ethan and Rocky Burger, Peachtree City, and William Tenney, Carlisle, Pa. Memorial contributions may be made to Scribner Fire Department, 714 Baker St., Scribner, NE 68057 or The Boy Scouts of America, Keystone Area Council, 1 Baden Powell Lane, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
