To one of the greatest men I've ever known!

Ansley Horton was a living juxtaposition of opposites: Gentle, yet tough as nails. Quiet, yet able to fill a room with his presence. Intimidatingly confident, yet disarmingly calming. Ansley was a man's man; a Marine's Marine. He had a love for God, wife, children, family, and friends that seemed boundless.

Ansley taught boys how to be men; taught women to demand respect and showed them how gentlemen ought to act; taught wanna be pilots how to realize their dreams. He taught Navy, Marine, and commercial pilots the nuances of their aerial machines.

Last Tuesday, 16 December, Ansley returned to The Lord to guard Heaven's gates with his fellow Marines. Our loss. Heaven's gain.

I thank God for bringing Ansley into my life. As I toast to his memory (quite literally with other friends who knew and loved him), may we all take a moment to remember those near and dear to us who have crossed the stormy seas into eternal peace. With every moment we remember; every conversation we recall; their spirits live on. Their legacies remain. God Bless the family of Ansley Horton, and all of my fellow bloggers who have experienced such a loss.

Cheers
