Michael Server: With few exceptions, the people I talk with truly like living in Tyrone. People want a place to live they can be proud of, to share with family and friends. (There are great people and families in Tyrone).

The issues that the Tyrone Council faces are not so much what services should be provided, but how and where. There is a perception that the government sometimes acts on issues before consulting with the citizens for input. There is an issue of credibility, of believability of trust.

My family has lived in Tyrone for 11 years. We have been “boosters” of band, cross country, and chorus at Sandy Creek High School.

I want to continue to be a “booster” for the town and citizens of Tyrone. I want to encourage a climate of participation.

There are many gifted people in Tyrone to provide ideas, counsel and energy; to help us build together a place we all can be proud of. However, to achieve this, it requires an environment where people listen to one another, to seek to understand and to use the strengths of each to make a greater whole.

My work experience in human services and purchasing as well as many years of service in leadership positions in our church have helped me to do so and to be a consensus builder.

Abe Lincoln was credited as stating that “United we stand, divided we fall.” I want Tyrone to stand. To those who share this vision, consider voting for me on Nov. 8. I may be reached at fmserver@hotmail.com.
