The Lockni and Nohrin people have been fighting each other for years, ever since the evil Sedessa (the late Ann Bancroft) stopped the Lockni’s peaceful journey to the Nohrin’s land and slaughtered most of them. Fortunately, King Zahn (Louis Gossett Jr.) stopped Sedessa’s plan to totally kill everyone, cut her wings off, and banished her. Under his rule, the amount of fighting has decreased. Zahn’s daughter, Kyla (Jennifer Love Hewitt) does not understand why the Nohrin and Lockni are fighting but she does know that Sedessa also killed her mother when she was a baby.

One day, a Lockni named Delgo (Freddie Prinze Jr.) and his useless friend Philo (Chris Kattan) are racing when suddenly Delgo falls off his “vehicle” and almost into a huge pit. Fortunately, Kyla shows up and rescues him. But being a princess has its disadvantages. Delgo and Philo are suddenly shoved to the ground by Kyla’s bodyguards, Gen. Boguardus (Val Kilmer) and Col. Raius (Malcolm McDowell), and the princess must go away.

Raius is actually working with Sedessa and they both believe the war is not going well. To get the king back for banishing her, Sedessa tells Raius to capture and bring Kyla to her. He succeeds in doing so, therefore Delgo, Philo and Boguardus team up despite their differences to rescue the princess and stop Sedessa.

This movie is similar to “Star Wars: Attack of the Clones” in one way. The Lockni levitate rocks with a mysterious Force like control. While the animation looks like it belongs to a video game, the story will probably entertain most people, and the potty humor will make small ones giggle. The movie is good, but you feel like you are watching a video game being performed on a movie screen, and it also feels like a pilot to a new TV series. Even so, the plot is simple and for once, the movie actually gives you what the preview makes you believe the film will be.

Unfortunately, one or two little kinks could be worked out of the film. Philo is a new kind of unwanted moron and the potty humor is put in the weirdest places. Other than that, “Delgo” is a fun film that is very unique.
