Newnan service awards

The City of Newnan recently announced the recipients of the 2008 Service Anniversary awards. The Mayor and City Council recognized each loyal employee and awarded them a certificate, a pin, and savings bond.

Employees receiving the Five Years Service Award included Jon Cash (Fire), Allen Dement (Fire), Steven Goodman (Police), Wendy LaRotonda (Community Development), Melissa Lowe (Human Resources), Carlton Petty (Street), Bill Stephenson (Building), Frank Williamson (Building) and Elizabeth(Libby)Winn (City Manager office),

Employees accepting the Ten Years Service Award were Denver Atwood (Police), Dennis Boone (Fire), Shane Byrom (Police), Mike Furbush (Beautification), Gordon Kelley (Cemetery), Todd Lengsfeld (Police), Danny McDonald (Police), Rick Mires (Police), Damon Rosser (Fire), Donald Ryder (Police), and Chad Wood (Police).

Wesley Byce(Beautification) received the 15 Years Service Award.

The only City of Newnan employee to receive the 20 Years Service Award was Ricky Ayers, Newnan Fire Marshall.

Twenty Five Years Service Awards were presented to Betty Tolbert (Crossing Guard).

Ellen Bryan (Building) and Johnny Minix (Fire) were honored for their 30 years of service to the city.

Lastly, Kenneth Johnson (Fire), Greg Jones (Fire), Wayne Jones (Police), Chief Douglas Meadows (Police) and Charles Stapler (Police) were honored for their 35 years of service to the city.

“I am very thankful for the City of Newnan employees who work diligently to provide services to the citizens of Newnan. The City has a great staff, and I am especially appreciative of our longtime, faithful employees for all their hard work and dedication throughout the years,” said Richard A. Bolin, City Manager.
