A short agenda Feb. 2 at Fayetteville City Council will focus on funding for the Main Street Welcome Center and an Intergovernmental Services Agreement between the city, the Downtown Development Authority and Georgia Department of Community Affairs.

Main Street Nancy Price is requesting an additional $5,000 to be designated for The Welcome Center at the Historic Train Depot. Price said funds would be earmarked for signage at the front of the building and for completion of primary office space at the facility. Price is requesting that the funds be taken from the money collected from the sale of the Mowell Parking Lot.

In a Jan. 23 letter, Price said the exhibit and renovation work came in well under budget, though Main Street was unable to secure additional donations from Fayette County and the Chamber of Commerce as indicated in the initial proposal.

In other new business, the council will consider a resolution authorizing the mayor to execute an Intergovernmental Services Agreement between the City of Fayetteville, the Downtown Development Authority and DCA that would authorize DDA to borrow and be the recipient of loan funds from DCA. Those funds would be used for the acquisition of property and historical rehabilitation of 282 Lanier Street by Noel and Yvonne Parris.

Also at the meeting, the council will conduct a public hearing requesting the approval of a beer and wine license for Baci Restaurant located at 174 N. Glynn St.
