Senoia UMC to host blood drive

An American Red Cross blood drive will be held in the Senoia area this Friday, Nov. 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event is sponsored by the Optimist Club of Senoia and will be held a the Senoia United Methodist Church’s Fellowship Hall, 229 Bridge St. at the intersection of Seavy and Bridge Streets, two blocks east of Main Street..

The drive is receiving support not only from the Senoia Optimist Club and the Senoia United Methodist Church, but also from Crook’s Marketplace, Redneck Gourmet, Maguire’s Restaurant, The Bear radio station and other local merchants.

In addition to items provided by the American Red Cross (e.g. cookies and juice), volunteers will serve grilled cheese sandwiches.

Also, each donor will receive a free gift of a special Christmas ornament.

This will be the first of several quarterly blood drives planned for the area, with the next one scheduled for February.
