Kiwanis honors mc technical students of year

The Kiwanis Club of Peachtree City, a service organization dedicated to improving the Peachtree City and Fayette County communities recently identified the Technical Career Students of the Year for September and October fro McIntosh High School. Awards were presented to Rachel Bourne, September, and Lindsey Mitchell, October. The awards, which recognize outstanding scholarship and participation, were presented at a recent Kiwanis meeting. The selectees have to be nominated by their teachers and pass a screening board.

Rachel is the daughter of Andrew and Tamara Bourne. Her classes have included Accounting I and II. Her activities and interests include cheerleading, Peer Leadership, Young Republicans, Spanish Club, and serving as a class officer. Her career interests include teaching and sports medicine.

Lindsey is the daughter of Susan and John Mitchell. Her classes have included Web Design and Graphic Arts. Lindsey’s interests and activities include Voices (literary club), Latin Club, and the Georgia Renaissance Festival. She hopes to attend Oglethorpe University and study English/Creative writing and computers. Her career interests include graphic design, web design and coding.
