Maurice H. Harbin Sr., 83, Tyrone, died Jan. 24, 2006. He was born Aug. 19, 1912 in Fulton County. He was veteran in World War II in the United States Air Force. He was employed with Gulf Oil Co. for 17 years before starting his own businesses, including Harbin Realty and Mortgage, and Harbin Homes, Inc. He was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. Services were at Flat Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. William O. Priester and the Rev. Kent Richards officiating. Interment was at Westminster Memorial Gardens, Peachtree City. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Helen Stancil Harbin, Tyrone; a son, Maurice H. “Marty” and Debbie Harbin Jr., Tyrone; a daughter, Melanie and Dr. T. G. “Mac” McCormick Ill, Fayetteville; a brother, Marion Harbin, Columbus; a sister, Vivian Jones, Acworth; and grandchildren, Ryan and Meredith McCormick, Heather Harbin, Matthew Harbin, Michael Harbin, Daniel Harbin, David Harbin, and Hayley Harbin. Memorial donations may be made to Southwest Christian Care, 7225 Lester Road, Union City, GA 30291. Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, was in charge.
