A new website has been created to highlight Fayette businesses and be the go-to place to find holiday events, bargains and shopping destinations in Fayette County, Fayette County Chamber of Commerce announced Friday.

With the wide assortment of goods and services available locally, shoppers can eliminate some holiday stress by avoiding traffic and saving gas! At www.FinditinFayette.org, consumers will visit a fun and festive website where they can find fun things to do, “hot deals,” job opportunities and even ways to help others less fortunate during the holidays with one easy click.

Supporting our local economy is more important now than ever, and with the holiday shopping season upon us, the Chamber and local municipalities are encouraging consumers to Find it in Fayette!

There are lots of reasons to keep our shopping dollars in our own county, according to Virginia Gibbs, president of the Chamber.

“Small business is the backbone of our nation's economy - supporting our local small businesses helps us all in the long run,” Gibbs said. “Sales tax dollars provide funding for local resources such as education, transportation and much more.”

Also high on the list of reasons to buy local is to bolster the Fayette job market, Gibbs added. Shopping in Fayette will even help boost donations to local non-profits because businesses are more likely to give to local charities.
