Quilts donated to police to aid victims

A special delivery was made to Peachtree City Police Department last week by a women’s group called Peachtree City Comfort Quilters.

The contingent of quilters presented the police department with 25 Christmas quilts that will be given to children and adults who are caught in a traumatic or emotional situation. The Comfort Quilters are sponsoring the program in conjunction with Peachtree City police officers.

It is hoped that the quilts will help give comfort to victims of child abuse, accidents, domestic violence or when officers encounter victims who are scared, injured, traumatized or mourning the loss of a loved one.

Chief of Police H.C. “Skip” Clark II expressed his appreciation to the Comfort Quilters, stating that he was grateful for all their hard work and that the quilts will give much comfort to victims in time of need, especially during this holiday season.

Chief Clark said it is encouraging to know that groups such as the Comfort Quilters work so hard to show compassion to others and that they care.
