Piedmont Newnan Hospital today announced acquisition of the Newnan Hospital Health and Fitness Center from Newnan Hospital, Inc., effective Nov. 1, 2008. 

 “We are proud to add the Center to our organization,” said Michael Bass, president and CEO of Piedmont Newnan Hospital. “This is an important step for the hospital in our ongoing efforts to build a comprehensive continuum of care for our community.” 

 The Newnan Hospital Health and Fitness Center was excluded from Piedmont Healthcare’s initial asset purchase agreement of Newnan Hospital.  The Center will continue providing health, wellness and outpatient physical therapy services to the Newnan community at its current location on the court square in downtown Newnan.

 Tom Moat, Board Chairman of Newnan Hospital, Inc., was instrumental in the agreement with Piedmont. 

 "Piedmont Newnan Hospital has been extremely active in Newnan since joining our community last year,” said Moat.  “The transfer of the Health and Fitness Center will further increase their positive impact on our area.”
