Brown to speak at National Heights tonight
David Brown, a pastor with the French Protestant Church of Morocco, will speak at National Heights Baptist Church tonight, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m. He and his wife, Julie, will share their experiences working with refugees from throughout Africa. Brown is a former minister of music at McDonough Road Baptist Church. A fellowship dinner will be served at 6 p.m. National Heights is at 103 Old Norton Rd. and Ga. Hwy. 54 about one-half mile east of Piedmont Fayette Hospital.

CTK hosts ‘Night of Expectation’
On Saturday Nov. 15, Christ the King Church in Sharpsburg will host a “Night of Expectation,” an evening of praise and worship that will focus on spending the evening in music and prayer. The interdenominational service will begin at 7 p.m. and conclude by 9 p.m. and will involve a number of musicians and singers from Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church, Peachtree Christian Fellowship, and Christ’s Church at Whitewater. Singers and musicians will be Amanda Hale, worship leader, Michael Coons, Philip Craig, Josiah Haner, Kate Sawtelle, and Ryan Roberts. The church is at 4881 Ga. Hwy. 34 East, between Peachtree City and Newnan.

Dr. Bob Horner is new pastor at FFBC
Dr. Bob Horner has assumed duties as senior pastor at Fayetteville First Baptist Church. The ladies of the church will honor their new pastor’s wife, Mary Horner, with a Ladies Tea this Sunday, Nov. 16, from 3-4:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Inman kicks off Angel Tree project
Members of Inman United Methodist Church will kick off their annual Angel Tree project Sunday, Nov. 16, marking the 12th year the church has participated in the Christmas progam. Members of the congregation purchase gifts for children at the United Methodist Children’s Home in Decatur. The deadline for gifts or cash donations is Dec. 7. Operation Christmas Child musical planned
The Peachtree City First Baptist Church Kingdom Kidz Choir will perform the Operation Christmas Child Musical on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 6:30 p.m. Each year, church members fill Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes and give them to children. PTCUMC plans Thanksgiving dinner
The Peachtree City United Methodist Church will serve Thanksgiving Dinner on Sunday, Nov. 19, at 5 and 6:30 p.m.. The menu includes turkey and dressing casserole, cranberry orange relish, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, rolls and pumpkin pie. Reservations are required and can be made by calling the church, 770-487-6499. The cost of the dinner is $7.50 for adults, $3 for children (2-10) with a maximum of $20 per family.

Southside churches plan joint service
Fairburn United Methodist Church will host a Community Thanksgiving Service Sunday, Nov. 23, at 6 pm., jointly sponsored by First Baptist Church of Fairburn, First Christian Church at Fairburn and Fairburn United Methodist Church,. FFUMC plans interfaith service Nov. 23
There will be an Interfaith Thanksgiving Service Sunday, Nov. 23, at 4 p.m. at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church on the square in Fayetteville. The event is being held by the Fayette Interfaith Network, which is composed of Christian, Jewish and Islamic communities in Fayette County. The entire community is invited to attend. The service will be followed by a reception. Those attending are asked to bring two things in addition to themselves and their families: a non perishable food item for the Fayette County Food Drive and a dessert or snack to share (dairy only—no meat).
