Rehearsal for Murder, an audience-participation mystery with more than a touch of comedy, debuts at Tyrone’s Boxcar Cafe on Saturday, November 8. The plot involves two fearful actors (Toby and Anne) and an unbalanced director (Dr. Marcy Masters) who are trapped in a freight elevator during a regional audition. Marcy has recently avoided prison with a successful temporary insanity defense for killing an actress. Only two of the characters emerge alive from the elevator. Conceived by Offshoot Productions artistic director, Susan M. Steadman, Ph.D. and her daughter, Paige Steadman, the play is a sequel to their popular Audition for Murder which was first mounted in 2006. The audience will again be involved in the proceedings, this time taking on the roles of detectives interrogating the suspects. The November 8th show marks the third time that Offshoot has performed in dinner theatre at Tyrone's Boxcar Cafe, 865 Senoia Road. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The cost, $29 per person, includes meal and beverage. Call (770) 486-8931 to charge tickets, or drop by the restaurant in person. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.offshoot.org. On the following Saturday, November 15, Rehearsal for Murder will be performed at It’s A Grind coffee house, 1240 Hwy 54 West, Suite 600, in Fayetteville, across from Piedmont Fayette Hospital. Tickets for the It’s a Grind performance are $10 each and may be picked up in person at the coffee house, or reserved through Offshoot Productions: (770) 631-2362 or offshootpr@aol.com.
