An Atlanta man was arrested Friday for setting fire to a SUV that was later found near the Links Golf Course, deputies said.

John Louis Travis, 33, of Booker Street was charged with arson and theft by receiving stolen property, according to police reports.

The vehicle belonged to Travis’s employer and was stolen from Smyrna, said Lt. Belinda McCastle of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. It is believed the motive for setting the vehicle on fire was fraud, she explained.
