Best Buy in Fayette Pavilion is about to get a new neighbor. The Fayetteville Planning and Zoning Commission Oct. 28 approved a requested change in elevations to the new home for Conway Stores, a New York-based family clothing and home furnishings chain. Commissioners approved a minor cosmetic change in the facade to the 22,262-square-foot building previously occupied by Seasonal Concepts. The change to the elevation will consist of raising the parapet directly above the existing front entry door and aligning the cornice with the cornice of the adjacent Best Buy Store. Planning and Zoning Director Eldridge Gunn said Conway originally made the request to Fayette Pavilion owner Developers Diversified Realty to reflect the store’s actual spatial size. The store has only 60 linear feet of frontage compared to the 169 feet of frontage and 30,000 square feet of retail space at Best Buy, situated immediately to the west. The projected opening date for the Fayetteville store in not known. Founded in 1936, Conway Stores, Inc. is headquartered in New York City with estimated annual sales of $110 million. login to post comments |
