St. Mary’s plans ‘instructional’ Mass
Father Daniel J. Fleming, pastor at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Newnan, will offer an “instructional Mass” for the community tonight, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. Fleming will provide verbal explanations of each part of the Mass as it is celebrated. St. Mary’s Church is near the intersection of Ga. Hwy. 154 and Lower Fayetteville road, south of Thomas Crossroads, behind the new Coweta Library.

Holiday GriefShare session planned
“GriefShare: Handling Grief Through the Holidays” is a one-night seminar for people facing the holidays after a loved one’s death. The event, hosted by Peachtree City United Methodist Church, will be held Thursday, Nov. 6, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Robinson Road campus. Topics to be discussed include “Why the Holidays Are Tough,” “What to Expect,” “How to Prepare,” “How to Manage Relationships and Holiday Socials” and “Using the Holidays to Help You Heal.” RSVP to 770-487-6499.

Holy Trinity to hold Fair Trade Sale
The Holy Trinity Council of Catholic Women at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City will host a Fair Trade Sale Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 8 and 9, after all Masses. The sale will offer Advent calendars, jewelry, children’s items, coffee, tea, chocolate and one-of-a-kind gifts for individuals, teacher gifts and stocking stuffers, all starting at $4. All proceeds benefit Catholic Relief Services Work of Human Hands Project. Cash or checks accepted. Legacy Ministries to host free brunch
Legacy Ministries for Christ, Inc. will host a free drop-in brunch to inform the public about what is offered at the Legacy Equipping Center. The brunch is planned for Saturday, Nov. 8 from 10 a.m. until noon with a presentation to be shown at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. The Equipping Center is at 1952 Ga. St. Gabriel’s plans craft fair
The Catholic Church of St. Gabriel will host a Craft Fair on Nov. 8 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the church. Handmade items will be available for purchase and specialty items made to order will be on display. St. Vincent De Paul Society will sell food and drinks with all proceeds to benefit those in need in Fayette County. Door prizes also will be awarded. Summit to offer grief support group

David Brown to speak at National Heights
David Brown, a pastor with the French Protestant Church of Morocco, will speak at National Heights Baptist Church Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m. He and his wife Julie will share their experiences working with refugees from throughout Africa. Brown is a former minister of music at McDonough Road Baptist Church. A fellowship dinner will be served at 6 p.m. National Heights is at 103 Old Norton Road and Ga. Hwy. 54 about one-half mile east of Piedmont Fayette Hospital.

FFUMC to present Christmas play Nov. 13, 15
The Council on Missions at Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will present “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” a play by Barbara Robinson, Thursday, Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 15, at 2 and 7 p.m. in the church’s Family Life Center on Lanier Avenue in Fayetteville. Tickets cost $12 for adults, $7 for seniors 55 and over and youth 12-17, and $5 for children 11 and under. Tickets are available at the church office or the Welcome Center. Group tickets also are available through the church office, 770-461-4313. Proceeds benefit the underprivileged children of Fayette County.

Hopewell offers dinner and a movie
Hopewell United Methodist Church in Tyrone invites the community to enjoy dinner and a movie on Friday, Nov. 14, at 6 p.m. There is no charge, but reservations are necessary so there will be enough food. The movie will be “The Christmas Shoes,” which has a pre-holiday message for the whole family. Dinner will consist of chili, hot dogs, chips and a drink. Operation Christmas Child musical planned
The First Baptist Church Kingdom Kidz Choir will perform the Operation Christmas Child Musical on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 6:30 p.m. Each year, church members fill Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes and give them to children.
