The Peachtree City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to discuss possibilities relating to the future of the tennis center.

Currently the center is managed by the Peachtree City Tourism Association, but that group has asked the city to take over the day to day operations. Earlier this year the City Council agreed to do the same for the city's amphitheater.

Councilwoman Cyndi Plunkett said Friday afternoon that another option would be to hire a company to manage the facility for the city.

The tourism association was created several years ago specifically to operate the tennis center and amphitheater after the city's development authority came under fire and handed the management responsibility back to the city.

Like the development authority before it, the tourism association receives funds from the city's hotel-motel tax collections to partially fund the two venues.

The amphitheater is now back under the city's control as part of the recreation department. The city recently hired Nancy Price, who ran Fayetteville's Main Street program and the Villages Amphitheater in an effort to turn around the facility.
