Helping gear up for the creation of Fairburn’s Fire Department in April will be new Assistant Fire Chief Stephen Hood (left). Chief Jody Weller told council members Monday that Hood comes with 16 years experience with Fayette County Fire and Emergency Services. Hood is a nationally registered and state certified paramedic and has experience as an Emergency Room Technician and Flight Paramedic and holds an Associate’s Degree in Paramedic Technology. He is an Advance Cardiac Life Support Instructor, a Pediatric Life Support Instructor, a Basic Life Support Instructor and a Critical Care Paramedic.
