What's the earliest Peachtree City golf cart picture you have that's NOT on a golfcourse? Vintage pictures from the 1970s are needed! Whether it's an early golf cart procession or someone out for a trip to the store, Rebecca Watts, of the Peachtree City Library, would love to see it.

"We're working on a pictorial history of Peachtree City and our publisher has rejected the pictures we've suggested for the cover photo," says Ellen Ulken, who is working along with Ms. Watts and Clarence Lyons to produce a pictorial history book in honor of the city's 50th anniversary next year. "They'd really like to portray the beginnings of the 'golf cart culture' in Peachtree City. So, we could really use some help from Peachtree City residents who've been here for awhile."

If you prefer to lend the pictures rather than donate them, they would be returned in a few months when the publishers are finished with them. "If they're too precious to let out of your sight, please allow us to scan them," offers Ms. Watts. While not all pictures will be used in the publication, the library is interested in documenting as much of the city's history as they can. Please call Rebecca Watts at the library at 770-631-2520 or drop your photos off at the circulation desk in an envelope with your name and contact information plus the date of the photo, if known, names of the subjects, and what's going on in the picture.
