Whitewater keeps winning in softball's Elite 8, Sandy Creek and Northgate still aliveFri, 10/24/2008 - 8:33am

Whitewater’s softball team won their first two matches of the Elite Eight on Thursday. The Lady Wildcats beat Hardaway 2-0 and defeated Sandy Creek 8-0 to set up a game with Marist scheduled for tonight at 7 p.m. Sandy Creek won their first game of the Elite Eight, 3-1 over Jones County, but the loss to Whitewater sent them to the loser’s bracket. They are awaiting the winner of the Lee County and Evans game for a match scheduled for this afternoon. The other team from area 5-AAAA, Northgate, defeated Lee County 2-1 in the first game of the Elite Eight but the Lady Vikings lost to Marist 3-0. They are now awaiting the winner of Jones County and Hardaway for a match scheduled for this afternoon. Gates will open at 3 p.m. today and games will start one hour later. login to post comments |
