Everybody loves a good laugh and if you can laugh and help out a good cause, such as the Newnan Coweta Habitat for Humanity’s first youth build and The Centre for the Performing and Visual Arts in Newnan, so much the better.

Showcase of Entertainment will present a huge variety show on Saturday, Oct. 25 with legendary comedian Marty Allen and his partner Karon Kate Blackwell headlining.

Allen made 40 appearances on The Ed Sullivan Show and has appeared in numerous movies, and television programs in a career that has spanned over 50 years. In 2007, he began performing at the Gold Coast Casino in Las Vegas.

Showcase of Entertainment, based out of Coweta County, has put on several shows like this in the area in the last few years and owner and producer Suzanne Bartels is very excited for this weekend’s show. She books a lot of acts for the cruise industry and a number of the people performing on Saturday are her first picks.

“It will be a fast paced and fun packed show,” said Bartels, who added that Habitat for Humanity and the performing arts are both causes dear to her heart.

Among the other guests performing in the jam packed program are comedians Bean and Bailey, Steve Mazan, Lee Marvin Adams, Tom, Dick and Harre and Drake Witham, as well as magician Mark Robinson, juggler Tyler Linkin and ventriloquist Keith Haddrill. David Pengelly will be the master of ceremonies for the show and Mac Frampton, Showman of the Grand 88’s will also perform.

The show starts at 6:30 p.m., at The Centre for the Performing & Visual Arts, 1523 Lower Fayetteville Road, Newnan, 30265. Tickets are an affordable $12.
