Gladys Louella Mann, 83, Tyrone, died Oct. 2, 2008. She was born in 1925 in Fayette County, the daughter of Luther A. and S. L. Brown Matthews. She was an avid gardener, and a wonderful cook. She was an active member of the Tyrone First Baptist Church where she set a Christian example for several generations of members and her family.

Services were at the Tyrone First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ferron Roper officiating. Interment was at Sharon Memorial Gardens, Tyrone.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Lyman W. Mann, Tyrone; a son, Jeff and Debbie Mann, Sharpsburg; a daughter, Brenda and John Lynch, Senoia; grandchildren, Karyn and David Moorman, Concord, Ga., Karla and Herman "Mac" McRae, Jackson, Ga., and Ryan Mann, Sharpsburg; and great-grandchildren, Jonathan Blanton, Parker Moorman, and Lucy Moorman.

Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge.
