Laura Griffies, 91, Fayetteville, died Oct. 15, 2008. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judith L. Melton. Memorial services were at the Carl J. Mowell chapel. Survivors include sons, Robert Melton, and John Griffies; and a daughter, Beth Griffies. Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, was in charge.
