Sandy Creek defeats Fayette County, 3-0

Sandy Creek's Zach Lopez kicked a 31 yard field goal in the first quarter and that was all the points the Patriots would get and need to remain undefeated.

The Patriot offense was held to 169 total yards (102 yards rushing and 67 yards passing), but their defense was stingy as well, keeping Fayette to 84 yards (54 yards passing and 30 yards rushing).
Rajion Neal was the leading rusher for Sandy Creek with 69 yards, while Devon Hughes had two catches for 26 yards.

On defense, Sandy Creek was led by Matt Solomon, who had 10 total tackles and two tackles for a loss, while Lacy Coleman added six total tackles and three tackles for a loss. Jonathon Caughman also had six total tackles and a tackle for a loss, while Brandon Putnam chipped in five total tackles and two tackles for a loss. Isaiah Johnson and Julian Holmes each had an interception and Jeremy Miller had a fumble recovery.

Fayette County’s defense was led by Tago Smith with 9 tackles and two assists, while Andre Columbus had eight tackles, five assists and a sack. Josh Atwater added five tackles, four assists and a sack, while Nic Mercer had four tackles and six assists, Evan Reid had four tackles and three assists and Malcolm Reed added four tackles and two assists.

Sandy Creek will host Starr’s Mill this Friday, while Fayette County will host Whitewater.
