It was a wet and wild game early on for Whitewater which fell behind Northgate 10-0 due to some miscues.

The Vikings struck in the first quarter with a 27 yard field goal from Casey Vaughan. In the second quarter, Northgate quarterback Jake Copeland connected with Malcolm Poindexter on a 60 yard touchdown play.

With no time left on the clock, Thomas Frierson scored on a two yard touchdown run. The play was made possible thanks to a pass interference call that allowed Whitewater to run one more play in the half.

The third quarter was a defensive battle and Northgate blocked a Whitewater field goal attempt keeping a lead over the Wildcats until the fourth quarter.

Whitewater took a lead when Austin Faulkner capped a nearly five minute drive with a one yard touchdown run. O the next Whitewater drive, Copeland intercepted a Wildcat pass, but Whitewater's Jake Fisher intercepted a pass later in the quarter to seal the win.

Chris Wingate led Whitewater on offense on Friday with 127 yards on 16 rushes and four catches for 32 yards. Quarterback Chase Penland was 9-for-13 passing for 113 yards with one interception.
