The Peachtree City Police Department is warning citizens to be careful when conducting business with neighborhood solicitors who may be conducting repair related scams of homeowners and the elderly.

Such services are often related to, but not limited to, gutter cleaning and roof repair. Police have received several reports where solicitors have demanded high payments to fix minor questionable repairs.

Local ordinances require solicitors and peddlers to register with the police department and obtain a solicitors permit prior to conducting business. If you encounter persons who appear to be operating without a solicitors permit, please contact the Fayette County Dispatch Center at 770-461-4357 to report the incident. An officer will respond to investigate the matter.
