The Starr’s Mill High School Beta Club, along with several local businesses including Jumping Jelly Beans, Brain Balance Achievement Center, Rita’s Ice and Partner’s Pizza are providing an opportunity for parents of children with special needs to get out and vote. Jack Kennedy, Starr’s Mill High senior, has organized the event because he knows first hand that it is often difficult for parents with disabled children to get to the polls.

“I know there have been years when my parents were unable to vote because going to the polls with my brother who is disabled by autism just wasn’t feasible. Since we know that voting is the most powerful form of advocacy, we wanted to give parents a fun, safe place to bring their kids on election night.”

On Tuesday, Nov. 4 from 4 to 8 p.m. Jumping Jelly Beans (135 Huddleston Road, Peachtree City, GA 30269) will open their doors to children and teens with special needs so that their parents can exercise their right to vote. Food and snacks will be provided by Partner’s Pizza, Rita’s Ice and Brain Balance. Along with volunteers from the Starr’s Mill Beta Club, the staff of Brain Balance will be there to provide trained adult supervision of the event. Best of all, the event is free of charge. Please RSVP by Nov. 1 to reserve your child’s spot. Phone 770-631-3033 for more information.
