The Senoia Optimist Club will be hosting a pork barbecue fundraiser (including brunswick stew) on Saturday, Oct. 18. Serving time will be approximately 11 a.m.-2 p.m. (or until the food is sold out). The barbecue will be served at the Senoia Masonic Lodge which is located at 19 Main Street in downtown Senoia (between Hollberg's Fine Furniture and the Senoia Coffee Company). The proceeds will be used for several important service projects to help young people and the community. Some of the current initiatives include the following: The barbecue will again be catered by Johnny Brown’s Country Fixin's, Inc. from Hogansville. This popular outfit has served at many area events over the years, including Powers Crossroads. Tickets can be bought the day of the barbecue at the Senoia Masonic Lodge. If you need to talk with a Senoia Optimist Club member for further information, contact either Dave Arnold 770-599-8697 or Hal Sewell 770-599-6097. If you are unable to make it to the barbecue but would like to purchase any of the products being served, please contact any Optimist Club member, including those listed above. As long as supplies are available, they can assist in making arrangements to get your food to you at a later time or date (frozen if necessary).
