Mercy football tops SACA, 35-8

Our Lady of Mercy’s varsity football team got their first region win of the season last Friday by defeating Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy, 35-8.

The Bobcats scored 14 points in each of the first two quarters and then were outscored 8-7 in the second half. Regardless, it was a dominating performance.

Our Lady of Mercy rushed for 151 yards and passed for 86 while holding SACA to -4 yards rushing and 94 yards passing.
Quarterback William Pearl rushed for 50 yards and two touchdowns for the Bobcats, while Jarrell Bankhead rushed for 31 yards and one touchdown and caught two passes for 56 yards and another touchdown. Jordan Sartor also had a touchdown catch in the win.

Defensively, Amir Mustafa led the team with seven total tackles, while David Mann added five. Pearl had three tackles and an interception.
