Healy joins Tennis Center staffThu, 01/26/2006 - 4:59pm

Craig Healy recently joined the tennis coaching staff at the Peachtree City Tennis Center. He will be teaching junior team tennis and ladies teams, while also offering private lessons. Healy is originally from the Atlanta area and has always excelled in sports. He was a top-ranked junior tennis player, and was also All-State in football, basketball and golf. He is currently certified P-1 by the USPTA. He played tennis collegiately and while living abroad in Mexico. After graduating from the University of Georgia with a BA degree in Spanish, Healy taught special education in Atlanta City schools for one year. His tennis teaching career began in Boca Raton, Florida and then he relocated to Peachtree City in 1997 to run the tennis program at the Cannongate Country Clubs. Since 2000, Healy has been the head tennis professional for the Peachtree City Parks and Recreation Department. Throughout his career thus far, he has been a finalist for GPTA Pro of the Year multiple times, taught many ALTA and USTA city and league champions and even the Georgia Team of the Year in 2000. Healy is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist, has CPR certification and is a member of the Wilson Advisory Staff. When not on court, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son. login to post comments |
